Does anyone know the luthier Vasilios Kelesidis from Larisa ?
I would be happy to get some more information about him, because I have heard that he is able to construct excellent bouzoukia at reasonable prices.

Baglama Jack hole

I need to drill a hole in my baglama for a gig on Saturday but I wanted to see where others have their hole drilled......

Anyone know of the opening track to the Woody Allen movie "The Mighty Aphrodite"?

It's Zambeta playing it, I've heard other versions of this by him, but nothing like the version for this movie. Is it a specific recording for the movie or was lifted off one of Zambeta's albums?

Unfortunately I cannot track this movie down in Australia, maybe my American friends can help out with this particular version of this song.

Here's a 70's zouk I finally finished. I found it at a garage sale in 99'. The headstock was broken, bowl cracked, neck bowed , all messed up and ready for the garbage. over the past ten years(between working on many other zouks)

I made a new headstock, stripped paint off the fingerboard, added new frets and side position dots, recycled perloid designs from original headstock and fingerboard to make new ones, applied new black vinyl on the back of the neck, refinished the whole thing, made a bridge, nut, pick-up mount, added a 26th fret, and decided to laquer the kapaki black cause it was filled with imperfections. Now it plays like a dream, sounds pretty damn good and it is as lite as a feather. I wish I had something like this when I was traveling alot all over the western U.S. doing Greek festivals. I put some expensive instruments thru some serious climate changes. My only complaint - the bowl is a little shallow for me, I'm more comfortable holding a deeper one.

I understand Sfakianakis will be performing in the very near future here in the US. I had heard in his previous concerts here he had made some anti-American remarks and it reportedly got very ugly.

I wasn't there. I do happen to like his musical style very much however, I would like to know what was said before I spend any money to support someone who should really stay out of politics and do what he is paid to do - perform and entertain.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who attended that previous concert.
